Adult Open Hockey and Sticktime sessions are offered weekly for players ages 18 years of age or older and for all skill levels. The Ice Den strives to maintain consistent times, however Coyotes or other NHL practice sessions and seasonal youth camps and clinics may disrupt these times. For your convenience, the Ice Den provides the following monthly open hockey calendar or you can pick up hard copies at the Ice Den Information Center.

Open Hockey and Sticktime sessions are designed to give players seeking extra ice time the opportunity to play in a noncompetitive environment. The maximum amount of players allowed is 30 players plus four goaltenders. Most sessions are 90 minutes at a cost of only $12 for active CAHL members and $14 for non-members (goalies are free).

Due to the Coyotes and visiting NHL team practice needs, the posted open hockey schedule may change with little or no notice. To confirm all open hockey times, please call the Ice Den Admin Office at 480-473-5811 after 8:30am on the date of the session - thank you!

With the addition of daytime public skating sessions, summer camps, hockey schools, rink maintenance, etc, the summer adult open hockey times (June - Mid-Aug) will shift to weekday evenings and weekend times. We realize this short-term change to the open hockey times might not work for some of our regular adult players who enjoy the mid-day sessions, however we are pleased to announce that we hope to improve the overall quality of our sessions by pre-scheduling goalies for all open sessions going forward. CAHL Director Todd Bisson is working to pre-schedule two goalies per session. While this does not guarantee goalies, pre-scheduling two along with allowing two drop-in goalies certainly increases our odds of having at least two present for each session.

If you are a goalie and would like to be pre-scheduled for open hockey times, please contact Todd ASAP! Pre-Scheduled goalies not only guarantee their session spot, but if they also play in the CAHL, they earn league credit – see Todd for details!

Player sign-in begins one hour before session (no exceptions).
Sessions limited to the first 30 skaters.
All sessions are NON-CHECKING. Recreational play only.
All sessions are video taped.
Goalies are FREE! (limited to the first four).
Must be 18 years of age or older for all adult sessions.
Must present current driver's license and sign a facility waiver at check-in.
Full equipment and helmet is mandatory (also bring a white and colored jersey).
The Ice Den reserves the right to revoke a player's privileges due to unsportsmanlike play.
